If you’re experienced in generating and launching professional development training programs, and you have a strong interest in Jewish communal life, here’s a chance to join an organization that states it “touches more Jewish lives than any other in the world?” That’s the proud claim of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), which serves as an umbrella organization supporting 148 Jewish Federations and more than 300 Network communities that raise more than $3 billion annually in support of the social welfare, social services, and educational needs of the Jewish population locally and nationally, in Israel and worldwide.
JFNA has hired Sageview Search, a division of Sageview Consulting, to conduct its search for a Vice President to lead its Mandel Center for Leadership Excellence (MCLE). MCLE develops programs that support new CEOs and other leaders both during their onboarding period and during their tenure in office. They also provide such services to the JFNA itself. What qualifications is JFNA looking for in the individual they hire for this important post?
In addition to strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, they’re seeking at least 15 years of experience in assessing, building and launching professional development programs and workshops for a variety of skill groups and levels. Experience coaching senior executives is also a high priority. A Masters in HR management, organizational development, non-profit management, social work or a related field is preferred, and significant professional experience with Jewish communal life or organizations is requested. This experience can be either as a professional or volunteer. They also ask for someone who is flexible and adaptable as the nature of the job can change with organizational needs.
JFNA is based in New York City, with an office in Washington, D.C. But, as might be expected due to the widely dispersed nature of its clientele, travel will be required.
